John Inks for State Assembly (24th District)

Greetings and welcome to my State Assembly (24th District) election campaign.

I am completing my last term on the Mountain View City Council this year and now campaigning to serve Silicon Valley and the coast in the State Legislature.

John Inks

Long Record of Public Service

I have a sixteen-year record of service with the City of Mountain View as a volunteer mediator, Parks Commissioner, Environmental Planning Commissioner and Council member. I was Mayor in 2013. I have also served on regional transportation and water advisory committees and as City liaison to Avenidas Senior Day Health. Separately from Council business, I have also supported many residents and businesses with zoning issues and processing development applications. See my Biography and In The Community pages for more information.

Leadership and Principles, Not Politics

I have a solid record serving on a Council that selected all three of Mountain View's current Council appointees. I strongly promoted sound fiscal management and practical regulatory policies. I have not supported policies and ordinances that over-regulate, impose new fees or impose arbitrary mandates and restrictions. I have supported policies that actually help residents and businesses, not just grow the City bureaucracy.

California Government

California government is certainly much larger and far more challenging than the City of Mountain. I will bring the same public service ethic and principles to the state budget and legislation affecting constituents, the many State agencies and transportation and water infrastructures.

2016 Election

It's more than evident election politics have changed in 2016. Voters are weary of mainstream politicians, especially insiders. I am independent of the political establishment and not affiliated with lobbyists or other special interest group in Sacramento.

Thank you for your vote in the June 7 Primary election.
